Congruity's Oldest Member

            Lydia Kepple, 108, was honored on her birthday at our congregational meeting on January 27, 2008.  Our oldest member, Lydia attends worship at Congruity every Sunday.

            Lydia was born January 27, 1900, in Turkeytown, one of four children of the late William and Annie Dell.  She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

            In 1926, she married Charles C. Kepple, with whom she owned a dairy farm on Hannastown Road near Greensburg. 

            She and her late husband were parents of five children:  Betty Lou Carr, with whom she resides, Charles W. “Bill” Kepple and George Kepple, all of New Alexandria; Shirley Stoltz of Mt. Pleasant; and the late Wilson Kepple.  She has 13 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. 

            Lydia goes out to dinner every Sunday with her family.  She enjoys reading, word search puzzles and visiting with relatives and friends.
